Students in Mrs. Haghparast's 5th grade class wrote letters to President Obama earlier this year telling them of their hopes, dreams, and wishes for their country. The letters were submitted to Random House and 5 of the students letters were printed in a book that came out in April titled Kids Letters to President Obama. These students all worked hard and put the writing process in to practice with editing, proofreading, and revisions.
The publishing company was shocked to see that so many of the letters chosen for publication came from the same class. Only 200 letters were published in all and were sent in from all around the world.
At Lee Hall we are so proud of our students and Mrs. Haghparast and we are thrilled with their writing with purpose. We hope this helps our students to realize that they do have a voice and that they can do anything they put their minds to.
