A great videoconference

Mrs. Wright's kindergarten class participated in a wonderful videoconference with Mote Aquariums www.seatrek.org . It was called Sea Me Read: Smiley Shark and Kasey the presenter read a book aloud to the students. I had been fearful videoconferencing with kindergartners because it is such a tough age for many adults to be able to hold their interest, but Kasey had no problem. She asked them questions as she was reading to keep them engaged and had them making predictions in the story. Following the story students got to see real shark teeth. This was a wonderful experience and Mote videoconferences are highly recommended. Also check out some of their interactive activities. Sharktracker is great for teaching deductive reasoning or making hypotheses.
